Coming off of a pre-season 34-0 win in Maui, the Jaguars were fired up for their first game in Valley Center. With the help of the fiery crowd from the sports luau Pep Rally, the varsity football team had an extra boost of morale and motivation to tear it up on the field against the Otay Ranch Mustangs. Leadership and ASB helped fuel the fire by setting up sports, music, and snacks to keep the competitive spirit until the game started. The motivated Jaguars started off strong 7-0, in the first quarter, with the help of the Rowdy Crowd, VCHS Band and Varsity Cheer. The Jaguars were tied 14-14 at half with anticipation of a good second half. Half time entertainment included a band ensemble and a routine by Color Guard.

In the 3rd quarter Otay Ranch got on top 21-14 with a touchdown pass, but the Jaguars kept their heads held high. “It was shaky at times, but we came through and won,” said Esai Morales, Offensive lineman, grade 12. With the help of constant energy from the rowdy crowd and cheer the jaguars persisted and scored their 3rd touchdown by Keith


 Vasquez, grade 12.With the game all tied up 21-21 in the last few minutes the Jaguars scored on a touchdown run by Mateo Sinoui, grade 11. With the buzz of a win everyone had a good time at the after party hosted by ASB. It was a good way to end an eventful and fun Hawaiian themed night.
